We are proud to present the “old library” in Deshler, NE for your vacation home. This newly renovated and revived library has been converted to a 3100 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom living space with multiple entertaining spaces, a deck and yard in the back and is in close proximity to all that Deshler and Thayer County has to offer.
What we love about this place is how many people it can accommodate comfortably. We also love that the fit and finish is the nicest lodging available within an hour of Deshler.
It’s conveniently located downtown so you are only steps away from the grocery store (and the bar and cafe which are opening soon). It’s also a couple of blocks from two churches, making it a great option for wedding parties.

Deshler and Thayer County
Deshler is located on Highway 136 in the southern part of Thayer County in south-central Nebraska, 12 miles from the Kansas State Line. U.S. Highway 81 is eight miles to the east, and Interstate 80 is 55 miles north of the community. The State Capital, Lincoln, is 100 miles northeast of Deshler.
Deshler is home to the Thayer County Fair, usually held in the first week of August as well as Deshler Daze held over the Father’s Day weekend.
Other events in the area include Hebron’s 4th of July celebrations, Chesterfest (held 3rd week in June)
Thayer County has a wonderful museum complex in Belvidere (20 minute drive) and hosts a Fall Festival the last Sunday in September.
